Marie Liang, the McCracken County Public Library's fantastic director, is retiring after 18 years of service — and everyone is invited to her party, 5-6:30 p.m., today, in the Library Community Meeting Room.
Everyone loves Marie. And based on her amazing accomplishments, it's no surprise. Her staff members especially love her. In fact, they nominated Marie for the Carol J. Parris Mentoring Award, which she received in October 2008. If you wanna know what it's really like to be loved by your employees, read their nomination letter on Iris Shreve Garrott's blog. Iris took the photo, above.
I'm also a big fan because she was an early iList Paducah supporter and sponsor. And I'm awful partial to supporters and sponsors!
Stop by and thanks Marie for her contributions to our community. And say hello to Julie Hart, the library's new director! Julie started work June 15, and she is already a big hit!
